ARMENIA 2012 (3rd) 6 36. BELARUS 2011 (3rd) 4 Stockholm, Sweden - As announced by the TV4 staff today was that they're still unsecure about participation in Sofia, but the rumour says that TV4 will participate (we all don't know when that is announced). But the question is this: Will TV4 confirm participation, so Sweden stay in Junior Eurovision or will there be another dissapointment like in 2008? Well, thats still ofcourse up to the Swedish commercial broadcaster.
San Marino - San Marino Broadcaster SMRTV confirmed in a message that they will take part in Sofia, but which national process will they use? Thats ofcourse up to the San Marino broadcaster. San Marino has taken part in 2 years (for now), with their debut in 2013 with Michele Perniola and his song "O-o-O Sole intorno a me" (Sun is all around me) and their second appearance in 2014 with The Peppermints and their song "Breaking my Heart". San Marino had originally planned to debut in Yerevan in 2011, but they were excluded when the official participants in 2011 was announced. You can watch their first appearance: And their latest entry performed (so far): Belgrade, Serbia - Marija Serdar is rumored to represent Serbia in Sofia, but is this true?? Look closely at this screenshot: Is this true? well, thats up to RTS, the Serbian broadcaster. While you wait for the real answer from RTS, enjoy her cover of "And I'm Telling You" by Jennifer Holliday from the musical "Dreamgirls", peformed on the talent contest Pinkove zvezde (Pink's stars). Dublin, Ireland - Irish broadcaster TG4 had announced today that their national selection will be on the 14th of November in an unknown venue (which will be revealed soon). As you did hear, hundreds of applicants have signed in to challenge of being Ireland's first ever representative at this big event! Ireland haven't been involved in this contest since the beginning. The rumors circulated that Ireland was to debut in the Junior Eurovision in Malta last year, but they had to decline due to that their fund was rejected by the BAI (Broadcasting Authority of Ireland). They also wanted to debut, but with RTÉ, but they declined to mark Ireland's debut. Tunis, Tunisia - Tunisian broadcaster ERTT have recieved a mail about a participation, but they would say yes if they don't see Israel on the participations list this year. An official announcement will be made in the coming week. Tunisia originally wanted to debut in Eurovision in 1977, but changed their mind due to Israel participating. Helsinki, Finland - Finland's Swedish-speaking broadcaster YLE Fem confirmed they will not be participating in Bulgaria, this was given by the YLE Fem staff as answer: Vi kommer inte att delta. Vi har vår egen MGP som också den er i höst (We're not going to take part. We have our very own MGP which also is in the autumn). But fear not, YLE (the finnish-speaking broadcaster) have not ruled out yet, so stay tuned. Madrid, Spain - One of Spain's commercial channels and non-EBU member, Formula TV, has a petition on Twitter (if you have twitter account though) which is said that if you retweet the post, you mean yes, BUT if you like the post, then you think the opposite. Spain have been one of the founder countries of the JESC, but withdrew in 2007 because they stated that Junior Eurovision "have stereotypes we don't share". They got the favour first to return in Kiev, Ukraine in 2013, but they withdrew as well because of the statement they made in 2007. Spain's non-EBU supported channels was asked to participate for Spain in 2014 in Malta. They did eventually say yes, but not in time. Tirana, Albania - Albanian broadcaster RTSH have confirmed that Albania's return is possible. Albania has just participated once, like the shortlived Serbia & Montenegro (2005), France (2004), Switzerland (2004) and Israel (2012). The other countries also not ruled out yet is Ireland (debut), Croatia (still participating), Norway (return), Estonia (debut), Azerbaijan (return) and Spain (return). |
