Dublin - Irish broadcaster TG4 said in a chat with the person behind this blog that Ireland do have an interest in participating in the Junior Eurovision 2016. However, after placing 12th in this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Ireland revealed that they would not give up at all. At the contest, it was revealed that Aimee Banks had a twin, Anna, who revealed the points of Ireland. TG4 have not yet discussed their national final process, but rumours circulate that Ireland will either still use the 'Junior Eurovision Éire' contest or just going for a internal selection.
Ireland was in 2015 represented by Aimee Banks and her song Réalta na Mara (Star of the Sea), which was revealed to be a 'Dark Horse', but ended on a tied 12th place (along with Montenegro) with 36 points, behind Ukraine.
